Or are they just into better copying and deploying their Type Skunkworks Shenanigans?
Either way, Bravo, Nederlands. Late to the party maybe but the fun and games are only just starting and in dire straits need of some novel direction in these stoned age times full of crazies and wannabe Napoleons.

Play prominent cyber role within NATO or lead prominent NATO cyber roles, Matthijs? Is Dutch Intelligence a Servant Server or Master Service? Are there any competent stealthy leaders in cloaked positions of spooky influence?

Oh, wait. …. YetAnotherLocksmith
Ye olde Sabu stinger play, YetAnotherLocksmith.
Some would call that entrapment ..... and akin to a cheap cheat/subprime ploy.

If you analyze the word "Dutch" it sounds almost like "Deutsch".

Having said that, they certainly are more oriented towards trade and colonialist activity. So there must be a serious amount of criminal energy inside them. Which is clearly necessary if you plan to break communications confidentiality and hacking laws.

I am in the biz and all I can say is to support William Binney's analysis on the matter. Computers and telephones are essentially hopelessly broken. The best guess is that the advanced colonialist's marsmen want it that way.

Now, I can think of some tactics to "work around" these problems, but the Dutch have correctly analyzed that modern fighters, tanks and ships are stuffed full of digital/software systems.

So for example, you have a FLIR camera. It has an automatic gain control algorithm done in some crap language like C.

Your buddy hacks Killmart Inc. and gets hold of the crap C code. Then you get yourself a laptop and a $5 laser pointer plus some $1 transistors and some more low-tech electronics and a $20 soldering iron.

Your $600 investment can now be used to not just blind the camera, but to put it out of comission by a subsecond sequence of impulses by the laser pointer. All the $120 000 000 fighter pilot can do is to run a 5 minute reset of the camera controlling computer system.

Bonus points if you can drop his missles into a swamp by means of your intrusion.

Whats the solution ? I know one for strategic comsec but I dont have a silver bullet for the weapons software. They essentially face the same thing as Mr Binney pointed out. So "hope and pray" is probably the premier strategy. Or is it "hope the Russkies go drinking instead of programming" ???

That ship of forlorn hope and wishful thinking sank to the bottom of the deep some considerable time ago, methinks, Anonymous.

And here be a news tale which is full of opportunities for the budding cyber defence and attack engineering entrepreneur ....... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/10/24/moscow_beijing_poised_to_sign_deal_on_joint_cyber_security_ops/

Well, the Russkies are in some ways still incredibly naive. They are back to where they had been during the time of Viet Nam.

As homework, figure out what the advanced colonialists did to them then. It's out there, readily available through Google.

I admit having some serious secondary insight, so I have a leg on you. Now you know it, too.

And some of them are in really bad situation, with both Hell and Heaven having to comment on this.
