Is that right? This is a vulnerability that affects Linux but MacOS and Windows are safe? Gosh! .... Anonymous Coward
Strewth! What does one have to do to sublimely entertain and better educate the dreadfully slow to learn from past known and well enough documented mistakes/vulnerabilities for exhaustive serial exploitation.
What parts of the clear message that nothing/zilch/nada/FCUKAll2 is safe and secure, conveyed to you personally by both the originating tale [thanks, Thomas Claburn in San Francisco] and subsequent readers' comments [thanks, El Regers], do not compute for/with you, AC? Has the capacity and ability of your brain to accept and further process and progress novel information into useful greater intelligence been exceeded.
There's nothing to be done able to fix that limitation. Enjoy what you know and the rest will just pass you by and leave you most probably alone with no future need of your help or engagement. Some find it comforting in such a circumstance to realise they are not alone and their worlds abound with others similarly affected/effected/infected/disenfranchised.

Anybody who doesn't immediately recognize the irony in the notion that the CCP is merely trying to make its markets fair and competitive for the "little guy" probably doesn't truly understand the nature of the relationship between the Party, and the Chinese economy. Fundamentally, before everything else, it's about control, not fairness.
That paragraph was very nearly right, Tyler. It just went all wrong right at the very end in the last sentence which should read ........ Fundamentally, before everything else, it's about control with fairness.
Such makes a colossal difference.

Although Backhouse said that this exploit is particularly easy to execute, he added that he does not want “to give you impression that Ubuntu is full of trivial security bugs; that’s not been my impression so far.”
Systems don't need to be full of security bugs, trivial or otherwise, whenever just a few untouchable, invisible and/or unknown ones can be exploited and executed particularly easily.
But such has been warned about long before now .....
Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones. .... Donald Rumsfeld
