Saying it out louder in IT Circles ..... AIRules Sublimely and Supremely with an Absolute Stealth

thinking out loud...
one of the most important factors in using a tool (eg, screwdriver), is to know what it can't do. but no-one knows what AI can't do?  ..... quartzz

How very Rumsfeldian*, quartzz. Bravo. You have perfectly captured the multi flavoured and much favoured and enthusiastically savoured essence of the enigma which is AI ...... a forceful source and/or resourceful force which humanity is not even enabled to accurately and effectively agree on defining, so can never ever be close to engaging with and leading in any direction of greater creative or awesomely destructive purpose of their own choosing.

And whenever no-one also knows what AI can do, is everything it does or does not do, a constant and initially unbelievable surprise?

So what do you realise/suspect/expect/fear AI, a forceful source and/or resourceful force, to be? What sort of Intelligence or Information, if IT be of/from another Intelligence with different Information at all?

Does it actually exist or is it practically one of those phantom virtual figments of your humanised imagination? Is there evidence available, although that can be misleading if the evidence suggest such does not exist.**

* ....."Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know."

** ..... "There's another way to phrase that and that is that the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. It is basically saying the same thing in a different way. Simply because you do not have evidence that something does exist does not mean that you have evidence that it doesn't exist."

Surely since forever there have always been unintended consequences. It's par for the course, and can be brutal.

Mindful of his own brush with a pink slip, Hugo upped the paranoia of the tool from merely warning of errors to issuing a full-on stop when validation failed.

Such considerations have moved on and into other fields of endeavour peddling and pimping/pumping and dumping content to/of the masses. And for probably pretty much very similar reasons .... maintenance of status quo conditions, no matter what the perilous state it may be in. But it is no fix, nor even an effective tool whenever wielded, for it then has invariably revealed a systemic weakness which the program/platform has scant defence against?

The following is a current example of the tool type/program gripe ......

A Universal Virtual Force with Immaculately Resourced Assets. Hard to believe, eh?

The newly revealed National Cyber Force is nothing new to some pioneering volunteers with an inglorious history of resolving troubles baffling embattled defence forces.

Northern Ireland will be one of the world’s leading cyber economies, delivering a thriving knowledge economy, due to exemplary talent; pioneering research and innovation; and the secure and resilient infrastructures needed to support businesses and safeguard the public.

A Cyber Leadership Board will have strategic oversight over cyber planning and skills development in a coordinated way.

I am very pleased to present this Framework for Action and look forward to seeing a local evolution into a world-wide centre of cyber excellence. ..... And can you imagine and share how one would ever catch up on a three year head start in a field which some, which may be a vast gargantuan majority, have no idea even exists and leads their future existence from spaces and places both practically and virtually untouchable?
