US job growth accelerated more than expected in July as private employers stepped up hiring, easing fears that the economy was sliding into a fresh recession.

Yes, that is a surprise, and unbelievable too.

What do you know of macro news invention to micro manage perception?
This from Yahoo Finance on the Breakout page, "Fear on the Street: Inside the Stock Sell-Off" tells it like it is ....... There’s a growing realization among even the most optimistic investors that the United States is entering a new recession — a dreaded “double-dip.” Adding to the pain is the sense that the government and Federal Reserve are out of both ideas and ways to stimulate the economy. Corporate America is sitting on record amounts of cash but is refusing to make new investments with so little end demand for its products. Consumers and corporations are hoarding cash, and the economy appears to be seizing. The debt ceiling debate was a fiasco, snuffing any remaining confidence traders had for help from Washington, D.C.

amanfromMars, ..... in reply to WHITE DRAGON*

Anybody can become obscenely rich, if that is their passion controlling weakness, by helping the Chinese with the provision of their needs and feeds and seeds, although that is a universal service which is appreciated by any and all who would care for it, and it is nowadays easily delivered quite magically with IT Command and Control of Computers and Communications.

*WHITE DRAGON wrote ... Nobody ever got rich underestimating the Chinese.

On another matter which may be of interest and have need of critical and criminal investigation, which ministers are responsible for the purchase of Ormiston House …… http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-14393083 ….with a view I suppose of making a tidy private speculative property development profit …. with funds from the public purse.

Is that sort of speculative market gambling with public money normal in public office, with profits personalised and losses nationalised, and therefore all personal risk to the gamblers removed? Methinks such business, although very attractive, would be abuse and criminal?

Why did the Assembly buy a white elephant from the Police Authority in the first place? …… “The assembly bought the property in 2001 for £9m from the Police Authority, the predecessor of the Northern Ireland Policing Board.” Who profited from the sale and who knew who well enough to be scratching each others’ backs in the Assembly and Police Authority at the time?

Quite obviously is new intelligence to steer the masses been withdrawn from Sinn Fein and now all that can be done is to recycle that which they have been fed?

Are you suggesting that since Jonathan Powell stopped writing their speeches for them they are no longer up to it? What a slanderous suggestion.” ….. Cynic2 5 August 2011 at 10:54 am
It is never slander whenever true, Cynic2. Shall we lament the fact that MI5 are also a pathetic spent force in the new virtual environment of today too, Cynic2 …… unfit for future leading purpose in their new barracks, Loughside. Pay peanuts, get monkeys is probably part of their problem and imagining that they have to follow orders, rather than give them too. If they had any smashing intelligence themselves, they would have more flash cash available to them than they would know what to do with.

Now there’s a novel operation they could launch ….. rather than sitting on what is probably a Herman Miller and getting a fat arse for their troubles, which might even be playing online here.

Methinks, meknows they could do a hell of a lot better, because they appear to be doing so very little and everything on the news is so bad.

"Restriction of surveillance powers to the Mobsters in Government Buildings is oh so very predictable though. And they have legal immunity." .... Destroy All Monsters Posted Friday 5th August 2011 10:56 GMT

Nobody has legal immunity for despicable sovereign type actions based on false evidence and contrived protocols, Destroy All Monsters. Just ask Saddam and Mubarak and Blair.

And Wee Willie Hague and Dave Cameron, his sponsor and mentor, are skating on very thin ice with regard to their virtual takeover attempt of Libya ..... which has been an unmitigated disaster which idiots wouldn't even be spinning as a winning game play. Is someone spiking the tea and biscuits for the Cabinet with some psychotropic substances which has them in denial of leadership failure?
