"The only obstacle to full employment will be, as always, the lack of incentive and capital due to all kinds of counterproductive government intervention in the economy. So, to be credible, any attempt to shrink the public sector must also include plans to roll back existing government intervention such as taxes, legal tender laws and minimum wage laws which are handicapping capital formation and job creation." .... An interesting couple of sentences, MetaCynic, considering the European led austerity drives which are decimating the public sector and raising taxation. In essence then what you would be saying, is that those media muppets and politicised puppets are doing everything wrong and they are guaranteeing their own demise in double quick time.

For certainly an innovative private sector is not going to support a parasitic political sector which doesn't have a clue, and would think to increase taxation to pay for their lack of intelligence and nous.

"In answer to an overlooked question: No, I see no reason to think that DB is a phish (scammer). Do you? " ...... Posted by Heuristic on 1/15/2011 7:47:30 PM

I have every good reason to expect any place/space which reveals and shares novel intelligent thoughts, to be a both a phish and stealthy Intelligence Community Node which phorms Future Content for Presentation. :-) Love the vanity comment.

In rabid support of Heuristic Alien Memes everywhere, DB, do we counter with the observation that you have yet to find the enlightening greater depths in your own, but progress is being made, bit by bit, byte by byte.

"13 keywords in the article, 54 in comments. I wonder what's going on right now. This is a question you guys will have to answer. I don't mean now, here, in this topic. A prophesy, proven (-:

The keyword is "w*r"." ..... Posted by 4irw4y on 1/15/2011 12:34:11 PM

Those into the binary manipulated digital field and metadata analysis, and the reverse engineering of information for the base component parts [elemental and elementary input] of its intelligence products [complicated and complicating output] are much more attached and attracted to the mirror of that particular keyword, 4irw4y, and what picture/reality can be presented with raw information .... unprocessed intelligence yet to be formatted and delivered/phormed.

A dish best servered cold ... and it is very cold, in space, and on the tundran steppes, 4irw4y?

"Did anyone ever read "Report from Iron Mountain?" Published about 50 years ago." ..... Posted by Voltaire1940 on 1/15/2011 8:42:16 AM

Thanks for the question and info, Voltaire1940. Deja Vu and search engines/Google rules? :-) Although if one shares a completely novel and globally revolutionary source [and its coding] with Baidu, does the paradigm and balance of power shift to a Chinese advantage?

Re "Should We Have War Games for the World's Leaders?" [Posted by Stephen on 1/15/2011 1:10:27 PM] .... Yes, Stephen, it should be compulsory for the warmongers amongst them who would presently think themselves immune and protected from such prosecution and punishment as was afforded and deemed appropriate and just for Saddam. It would soon put the notion of war being a solution for anything right out of their heads, and would reveal most of them, if not all of them, as basically idiotic cowards in the genre.

"You see, one of my theses is that the state cannot exist in space. Therefore they cannot allow us to go there except in the most tethered way such as the government near-Earth space program. And your messages give me a glimmer that, in some sense, the state can't go into "cyber" space either! Like a camel passing through the eye of a needle." ..... Posted by Heuristic on 1/15/2011 1:39:53 PM

Quite so, Heuristic, and that is their enigmatic dilemma, for cyber space is the new command and control environment for Future Earth, and it does not entertain nor facilitate the closed shop secrecy needed for the imposition of inequitable rule. And they are slowly starting to realise that they have a major problem which needs to be addressed, pdq ..... http://cryptome.org/0003/did-cybersec.htm

"Put "E-2" grade with one year of service, no dependents for an idea of what a 20 year old high school graduate is getting paid with no dependents: almost $38,000/year, which does not include special pay or bonuses" .... Posted by Berthe on 1/15/2011 1:17:34 PM

I read somewhere that a soldier in the theatre costs $1,000,000 per year.

Heuristic, have you ever Googled yourself for a laugh/fright?
